Saturday morning, the 6 members of the team met at 9.15 in Howald. These were Claude, Medy, Antoine, Fred and two beginners in caving, Albina and Ilia.
We were lucky, the weather was good. After a two hour drive, we arrived at Mont-Godinne, prepared our stuff and went to the entry of the “Trou de l'égliseâ€, which is at the bottom of a small ravine.
Usually, there is a little stream running down the entry, but it had completely dried out.
The entry and the “pas de la mort†were the only passages where we used ropes. We rapidly came to the passage called “les cascadesâ€, were the water level was very low. We then accessed the chamber called “cathedraleâ€, where we could see big concretions. We made a short pause and continued our way down, trough the different galleries and chambers, right to the bottom.
We splited in two team to get out. Claude Ilia an Fred got up the cascade an out, while Medy, Antoine and Albina went to the "grande galerie".
At 5.30h, after a five and a half hour underground, we all left the cave. We were back in Luxembourg at 20.15h. |
